The film follows Cody, a grandson determined to fulfill his late grandfather's dream of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, a dream that was thwarted by a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. Cody, alongside his friends, embarks on a physically and emotionally challenging journey to carry his grandfather’s ashes to the summit. Along the way, they encounter both external obstacles and internal battles of self-discovery. Ashes of the Mountain is a meditative exploration of what it means to live, to lose, and to find meaning in the wake of death.
